Porcelain Veneers Reviews
Cosmetic veneers can be used to rapidly improve the look of your smile by hiding chips and stains on your enamel, misaligned or worn down teeth, as well as teeth that are unevenly shaped or spaced. At Advanced Dental Care, your cosmetic veneers will be custom made to fit comfortably over your teeth and look attractive, but still natural. In your consultation, Dr. Burr will listen to your goals and expectations so he can customize your procedure. Dr. Burr will also check to determine if you are a good candidate for cosmetic veneers by analyzing your overall oral health. You should not have signs of gum problems or habitually clench your jaw and grind your teeth (bruxism).
What To Expect
When you have developed your unique treatment plan with Dr. Burr, he will take physical or digital impressions of your teeth. Your cosmetic veneers could be created in our office while you wait with CEREC technology or the impressions can be sent to a dental laboratory where your custom veneers will be crafted out of high-quality porcelain material. When your custom veneers are ready, Dr. Burr will remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth. This creates space for the veneers and enhances the bond for results that look more natural and last a long time. Once your veneers are bonded, Dr. Burr will make minor adjustments so your veneers fit well.
Since the placement of veneers usually does not require anesthesia, you should be able to get back to your daily activities after your appointment. You may have some sensitivity to hot and cold foods for a few days, but this should subside naturally. Your veneers should be cleaned like your natural teeth with frequent brushing and flossing. While porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains than your enamel, you should still avoid staining food and drinks to keep your smile bright. To avoid chipping your veneers, you should not chew on hard objects, such as ice or your fingernails. Continue to go to dental exams and cleanings at Advanced Dental Care so we can monitor the condition of your cosmetic veneers, teeth, and overall oral health. Dr. Burr will let you know if your porcelain veneers will need to be repaired or replaced.
Veneers are a cosmetic procedure, so they are generally not included in dental insurance. Advanced Dental Care does accept many payment methods like medical financing to make your treatment easier to afford. At your consultation, Dr. Burr will customize your plan to fit your needs and budget. He will go over an estimate of your treatment and explain your payment options.
